Location: Upper Coomera
Project Size: 34sqm
I’ll start this report off with stating I am so glad of this project’s timing. Coming off a recent bad experience, the completion of this one really got the creative juices flowing and the confidence soaring again.
Our client here had recently done up the pool area with new retaining walls, garden areas and also lovely sandstone tiles surrounding it. However now, was faced with an aged patio and BBQ area that was originally coloured concrete years ago, but had let been go to waste and needed something done.
Our client was just after something simple originally, but after discussing things, we decided to “up the ante” and complete a custom semi-sandstone appearance so at least even if the two sections are different areas (pool/patio), at least they will have the same vibe about them.
First day was usual cleaning and repairing. A full acid clean of the concrete, grinding out of the cracks and applying repair products to these areas.
Given it’s Winter, I typically just wash one day, base the next and spray the following. My ADHD doesn’t have me sitting around and waiting on things very well, so at least this keeps me active and busy having plenty of time to fit in multiple projects during the week.
So after cleaning, repairs and base coating in white, I then returned to complete the resurfacing.
This style of custom design, is a length process on spray day. 34sqm here, which I began that morning at 630am, and saw me leaving at 430pm that afternoon after a single coat of sealer, then a second coat on the following day. Even though it’s time consuming, the results speak for themselves.
I won’t in detail run through my personal process of installing this style of finish. Most of the installers who complete finishes like this have their own style of doing it, and it usually has taken a long time and a lot of practice to get right, so being a little cagey with our knowledge is typical.
I will in turn, just leave the pictures to speak for themselves, with the only explanation being a 4 colour design, custom sprayed with a little Yellow blending flair, because lets be honest, it wouldn’t be a custom design by us without a little Jazz……
