Project Size: 67sqm
“GET RID OF MY HORRIBLE PAVERS!”, came the cries of our client from this lovely Burleigh Waters residence. So a quick quote and pencil in for some start dates and we were away.
Patience seems to always be the key for our clients these days. We offer a higher standard of work, and find our services to be in high demand, which pretty much always means our clients are having to wait at least 6 weeks for us to attend to complete their work. But this wait period, is definitely worth the distinct absence of having to worry if the work is going to be completed correctly.
This project here was quite a straight forward, standard setup. Existing pavers thrown away as far as possible (horrible, HORRIBLE things), and replace with a lovely new Salt and Pepper exposed aggregate concrete driveway and path to the front door.
All the typical extras where put into place for the reinforcing aspects, and as with most pours we are completing these days on significant hilly sections like this, we are breaking the pour off on the start of the incline (high percentage crack area), creating a physical construction joint to allow for cross slab tension in the area, then continuing the remainder of the pour on another day.
This process see’s me being onsite for another day, and only being able to pour smaller sections. But the extra day is of no concern to me if the quality of work is of a higher standard (quality over quantity), plus, it also allows more time for the placed concrete to be worked appropriately to assure there is no missing stone, the wash off is completely even and everything is completed to the highest standard possible.
Will be back now tomorrow to finish off the new concrete with an acid clean to leave our client with a lovely, shiny new exposed aggregate driveway.
Thanks kindly to our clients for your business, patience and hospitality.
